Reading Notes: Mahabharata Part A

(I added a picture of the geography of the Ganges river because it is referred to a lot in the Mahabharata . Image can be sourced  here ) I read the PDE version of the Mahabharata because that is the most easily accessible for me and worked well with the Ramayana.  There is a lot of family webs so I will try to explain them from what I understand from the reading. There was definitely a lot to digest so writing it out in a way I can understand helps me to better know what's going on. I've also attached a family tree from the story I Googled below to refer to. I have bolded  new characters when they are introduced. Reading Notes: Week 12 Jakarta Tales Part B

Sarabha is a deer that lives deep in the story and hasn't been seen. A king on a hunting trip sees a glimpse of the deer. Knowing what a rarity this is, he continues after the deer leaving behind is crew. The deer kept going at it and jumped over this rift. The king's horse stopped at the rift and the king flew off the horse into the rift. The deer notices the king has fallen into the rift, and decides to help him. He goes back to help. The king is kind of surprised because the whole reason he is in this situation was chasing the deer. The deer carries the king out of the rift, making the king feel happy and loved. The king offers the deer anything he wants and to come back to him to his palace. The deer denies coming back, but asks for no one to hunt. The king does not allow anyone to hunt in the fore...

Week 2 Story: The Trustworthy Crane

Once upon a time existed a zoological aquatic habitat consisting of fish, lobsters, jellyfish, sea turtles, and more that varied in colors, shapes, and sizes. While happy for being well-fed and well taken care of, many of these creatures still yearned to see beyond the the realms of their zoo captivity. It so happened that a month prior, the aquatic habitat was moved to the other side of the facility to make room for new primate installation. It should also be noted that animals were used to eating prepared meals so they did not eat each other. Such a concept was considered cannibalism and absurd. The new placement helped the aquatic creatures to have more interaction with 'freed' animals.  One day, a crane somehow found its way to the edge of the pool. The crane asked, "My, my, what a set up.
